Is PowerKnit FLEX USB-A to Lightning MFi certified?
Yes. It's certified under Apple's Made for iPhone (MFi) program, so the Lightning connector uses Apple-authorized components and has been tested to work with iPhone, iPad and AirPods without the 'accessory not supported' warnings uncertified cables can trigger.
Which devices does it work with?
On one end, anything with a Lightning port, iPhone 14 and every earlier Lightning iPhone, AirPods charging cases with Lightning, older iPads with Lightning, and Apple accessories. On the other end, any standard USB-A port: wall adapters, car chargers, power banks, laptops and desktop computers.
How fast does it charge?
It charges at the standard rate a USB-A port provides, the same pace as the classic Apple cable, which is ideal for overnight and desk charging. USB-A ports don't support USB-C Power Delivery, so if you want the fastest wired charge for a Lightning iPhone, pair PowerKnit FLEX USB-C to Lightning with a 20W USB-C charger.
Should I get the 4ft or the 6ft?
4ft (1.0 oz) is the everyday length for a desk, nightstand or car. 6ft (2.0 oz) reaches from a wall outlet to the couch or bed. Both carry the same knit construction, and each ships with a cable management strap so the extra length coils neatly.
Does it sync data as well as charge?
Yes. It carries USB 2.0 data at 480 Mbps, so it handles iPhone backups, photo transfers and syncing to a Mac or PC just like the cable that came with your phone.
Will it fray at the connector like my old Lightning cables?
That's the failure we designed against. The cable is tested and certified to survive over 500,000 bend cycles, about 50 years of daily plugging and unplugging. The knit fabric jacket, woven from 100% recycled plastic bottles, resists fraying and kinking, and the recycled aluminum connector heads hold up to the same abuse. It's backed by Nimble's 2-year warranty.
